Concrete additive
Concrete admixtures are chemical or mineral substances that are added to the concrete mix in specific proportions to enhance some of the properties of this important building material. For example, a specific group of concrete admixtures are responsible for retarding, accelerating, and fluidizing concrete, and additives such as concrete binders can increase the adhesion of concrete or mortar. Let’s learn more about the most commonly used concrete admixtures.
Sahand Shimi Concrete Adhesive
Concrete adhesive is the most widely used additive in Sahand Shimi concrete, and its use in concrete mixing design increases strength, durability, and longevity, flexibility, and adhesion. It is especially recommended to use concrete adhesive for better bonding of new mortar to old concrete. In addition to high resistance to mechanical and thermal stresses, concrete adhesive can increase concrete’s resistance to moisture penetration. Of course, concrete adhesive is not sufficient for 100% sealing, and for this purpose, Sahand Shimi’s two-component sealant should be used. Adding concrete adhesive to repair mortar for sealing cracks is accompanied by easy bonding to old layers without cracking or peeling. Concrete adhesive can be used to repair cracks on horizontal and vertical surfaces in dry and humid environments and benefit from its high quality.
Mortar Reinforcing Resin (Latex)
Mortar reinforcing resin is a supplementary emulsion resin for cement-sand mortar that can replace a certain amount of water in the mortar. This additive increases the strength of the hardened mortar against mechanical and impact stresses. Increasing the adhesive strength and reducing the permeability of water into the mortar are other properties of this product. Other applications of Sahand Shimi’s mortar reinforcing resin (Latex) include preparing repair mortar for sealing cracks and combining it with jointing powder for partial sealing of joints between tiles and ceramics. (For basic and fundamental sealing, Sahand Shimi’s two-component sealant should be used.)
Sahand Shimi Flex Latex
This product is based on emulsion resins and its addition to cement-based adhesives increases adhesion, flexibility and resistance to moisture. For this reason, Sahand Shimi Flex Latex is recommended for large-sized tiles, stones and ceramics.
