By adding Sahand Shimi Biza Plus Latex to replace part of the water in cement sand mortar, its physical and mechanical properties increase significantly. This reinforced mortar has high resistance to impact and mechanical stresses and is much more durable in environmental conditions. In addition, adding this supplement to the mortar significantly reduces water permeability into the mortar.
Does Biza Plus Latex create a waterproofing property in mortar?
Biza Plus Latex can be mixed with all cement-based compounds and, depending on different conditions, will reduce their permeability to a considerable extent. For example, by combining this resin with Sahand Shimi grouting powders, the joints between tiles and ceramics can be largely waterproofed. However, as a standard, using this product as a 100% waterproofer is not principled, and Sahand Shimi’s only product for this purpose is two-component waterproofing, which can be used as an independent product.
Applications of Sahand Shimi Biza Plus Latex
This resin is added to cement-based compounds in various ratios to replace part of the water and adds several properties to it, including:
- Increased strength and adhesion resistance of various cement-based powder tile adhesives
- Increased flexibility and reduced likelihood of mortar cracking
- Waterproofing of grouts in combination with grouting powder
- Preparation of repair mortar for crack sealing
Calculating the required amount
The consumption volume of Biza Plus Latex depends heavily on its application and expected performance. Typically, the consumption rate of this product is 15 to 20 percent of the cement weight of the mortar mix design (this amount is calculated as 35% of the powder weight for combination with grouting powder). The higher the consumption rate of latex resin in the mentioned range, the more effective the performance and the higher quality the mortar will be.
How to prepare Biza Plus Latex
The required amount of Sahand Shimi Biza Plus Latex is poured into a container with a suitable capacity, and then the powder part is slowly added to it while mixing with an electric mixer. Mixing continues until a uniform and homogeneous mortar is obtained.
Operating temperature and workability time
The best operating temperature for Sahand Shimi Biza Plus Latex is between 5 and 40 degrees Celsius.
Setting time
Adding Biza Plus Latex to the desired combination does not affect its setting time.
Expiration date and storage conditions
Sahand Shimi Biza Plus Latex can be used for up to one year if stored in its packaging and away from direct sunlight and freezing.
